Sharon Historical Society
Celebrate the Semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States by hearing about the commonly known as well as the untold and unexplored stories of the over 400 individuals from Sharon who served as members of the militia or soldiers in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
This event will include a presentation and discussion as well as a chance to view related exhibits. There will also be time for a creative activity -- an “in studio opportunity” to create items for the “Reflections on the Revolution: A Call to All” Exhibition at 16 High Street in December. This show will display the works of those who have chosen to express, in their preferred medium, their views of the Revolutionary events and figures. We are seeking visual art, photography, poetry, prose, music, videography, crafts, or any combination of these or other expressive techniques. Contributor's work will be documented and digitally preserved for the benefit of future historians and history lovers. Submissions will be accepted until October 31.
The Exhbits can also be viewed during our open hours:
2 - 4 Fridays 1 - 4 Saturdays 3 - 5 Sundays
